2007 Annual EEO Report

 

Full time vacancies (These are hourly positions that were cleared for up to 40 hours of employment a week.)There were two positions that were cleared for up to 40 hours per week. One was a news reporter and the other was an on-air announcer/clerical assistant.

 

Recruiting Sources: WUTC utilized the notification of communication students including the posting of the job openings on a job openings bulletin board, listing on the University’s personnel offices web site, listing the job opening on the University staff e-mail discussion sites. One of the openings was also advertised in the local newspaper. The Chattanooga Free Press

Recruitment Sources: WUTC utilizes the personnel services of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the University’s communication academic program, and included in the local newspaper.

 

Recruitment Initiatives: WUTC works with the University’s personnel offices to disseminate recruitment materials. The radio station also teaches classes as a part of the University’s Communication program. This partnership provides notification to interested students. The local newspaper is used to advertise job openings.

 

WUTC is a department of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. As a part of a state university system it is an equal opportunity work site. This includes the efforts of the university’s radio station, personnel services, the use of its websites, and its student admissions.


2008 EEO Report

 

During the last year, WUTC has filled two full time vacancies. One was for a membership coordinator and one was for a sales person. These positions were advertised in the local newspaper, posted on the University’s human resources web site and shared with the University classes taught at the radio station. Five females were interviewed for the membership coordinator position. Four were Caucasian and one was African American. The African American female won the position. For the sales job, two Caucasian males were interviewed; a Caucasian male was offered the job.

 

Each year UTC advertises in the local newspaper, posts job openings on the University’s human resources web site, and passes along the information about job openings to University classes taught within the radio station.
