On May 8, 2006, WUTC-FM will achieve its goal of being the first HD digital radio station in the Chattanooga market.  HD radio is a new technology that allows FM radio stations to transmit digital messages.  These are a tremendous technological leap from existing analog broadcasts.  The radio station is installing this new digital transmission system.  The overall plan will include a digital production room and a digital control room.

 

What is HD Radio.

 

The HD Radio Circle will be members who are major investors in WUTC's explorations into quality technological audio presentation.  More importantly, they will be this vision's ambassadors.  They will enable the radio station to expand and explore new vistas of excellence, to develop new listening venues, and to enjoy cutting edge technologies to empower improved service to the region.

 

WUTC's digital donors will receive state-of-the-art digital receivers.  They will be the first in the region to hear digital broadcasts.  Digital donors will have personal contact with WUTC's development office including updates on WUTC's step-by-step advancement into the digital future.

 

The HD Radio Circle will embrace contributors at the $1,200 or more, giving at least $100 a month for one year.  To find out more information about the benefits of becoming a HD Radio Circle member, please contact:
