The current exhibition at Reflections Gallery on Lee Highway is called Mixed Media, Contemporary and Abstract. The exhibition features the work of thirty local artists, one of whom is Anna Carll. While her work in the exhibition is all abstracts, Anna Carll first developed her reputation as an illustrator and later as a figurative painter.
But over the past fifteen years as she has devoted herself entirely to painting she has become increasingly interested in abstract expression. She spends almost all of her time either working or thinking about her work. That kind of immersion and self-discipline is essential, she told Richard Winham, even if it makes for an often solitary existence.
