The Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker is coming to the Tivoli December 21st and for many young ballet dancers in the area this could be their big break.
Moscow Ballet's Dance With Us program offers children ages 7 to 17 with at least 1 year ballet training a chance to train and perform with 40 professional ballerinas and danseurs when the ballet company performs in Chattanooga. To help things along, professional ballerinas will provide intermediate and masters classes Thursday and Friday July 7th and 8th.
Hamilton Academy of Dance is the host studio in Chattanooga for the Moscow Ballet and will be providing space for the classes this week as well as the auditions September 9th. The Hixson location provides a viewing window for persons interested in watching the classes. Participation in the classes is not a requirement for the audition, but it will provide an opportunity to learn Russian ballet techniques and choreography.
