Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

United Way of Greater Chattanooga

Read Across Chattanooga is the local celebration of the National Education Association's Read Across America and the anniversary of Dr. Seuss' birthday.

The United Way of Greater Chattanooga will host readings of books by Seuss Tuesday February 26 through Friday March 1 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM along with activities themed to match the book of the day.  Celebrity readers will join the Cat in the Hat to amuse the young and old at Hamilton Place Mall.  On Saturday March 2nd the big birthday bash is from 11:00 to 2:00 with readings, activities, crafts and prizes.  Children will be able to make themselves an iconic red and white striped hat in honor of Dr. Seuss and his most well known character.

There will also be an opportunity for pre-school children to get a free learning check up at the Play Area in the mall.  These screenings help determine the child's readiness for school.  Every child under the age of 5 that gets the free check up will receive a voucher for a family pass to the Creative Discovery Museum.

Rabbit has been on the air at WUTC since 1993.
