Dr. Sylvia Earle is a legendary oceanographer and explorer.
A marine biologist and author for decades, she is a pioneer in the use of scuba gear and the first woman to serve as chief scientist of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Today, Dr. Earle is a National Geographic explorer-in-residence and founder of Ocean Blue, committed to exploring and protecting the world’s oceans.
Her latest book is “National Geographic Ocean: A Global Odyssey” - and she appears in a new film, “Ocean Odyssey 3D.”
On Friday, Dr. Earle will visit Chattanooga for the film’s premiere at the Tennessee Aquarium’s IMAX 3D Theater, starting at 6 PM.
