As an architect in Montgomery, Alabama, Platt Boyd spent a lot of time imagining buildings of the future. He knew that he and his peers could already envision many designs that would be difficult (if not impossible) to construct. This led Platt to explore 3D printing and robotics, and out of this quest Branch Technology was born.
This promising startup now owns one of the largest robotic 3D printers in the world and is creating new ways to construct walls that aren't constrained by conventional building techniques. On this episode, Platt visits with Start It Up Host Monty Bruell to explain why one day robots may be building our homes, offices, and other structures.
