Twenty-five years ago, the Olympics came to Southeast Tennessee.

In 1996, the Ocoee River hosted the whitewater slalom competition for the Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

The Ocoee Whitewater Center was built for the occasion - and stands to this day.

Competing for the United States:  Wayne Dickert from Bradley County - and Horace Holden.
