On 9/16, Chattanooga's Sculpture Fields Celebrates the 1920's with a Speakeasy

TheSculpture Fields in Montague Parkon Chattanooga’s South Side is a “world class sculpture garden,” according to the website—and that’s not hyperbole. John Henry, the sculptor behind the gardens, has spent more than fifty years creating large scale sculptures that are now in museums and galleries across the country as well as in public spaces across and Europe and Asia. The work on display in the garden represents his peers from around the world.

This Friday, September 16, the Sculpture fields ishosting its fourth annual fundraiserto help complete the sculpture garden which is currently in phase one of the three part construction plan. Richard Winham talked to the garden’s executive director, Cathie Clifford, who told him this year’s fundraiser will have a 1920’s theme.

Richard Winham joined WUTC five years after the station began broadcasting to the Chattanooga area and the Tennessee Valley.
