Corker on Khashoggi Vanishing & Senate Response: U.S. Doesn’t Abide by Killing Journalists

As a journalist myself, I'm glad many U.S. Senators have responded strongly to Saudi reporter Jamal Khashoggi vanishing in Turkey--Senators are pressuring President Trump to investigate the incident and (if it turns out Khashoggi was murdered by the Saudi regime) enact sanctions.

"Killing journalists, if it occurred," says Tennessee Senator Bob Corker, "is something that, as a nation, we just don't abide by."

Corker, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, was in his hometown of Chattanooga today, and I spoke with him--why is one foreign journalist's disappearance so significant to U.S. politicians?
