Next week, urban mobility and smart tech are on the agenda for Chattanooga Connect - a new conference hosted by our campus, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

The conference on Monday through Wednesday is presented by UTC’s Research Institute and its Center for Urban Informatics and Progress.

Dr. Mina Sartipi is executive director of the Research Institute - and the Center’s founding director.

I spoke with her - and Joda Thongnopnua, special advisor for the U.S. National Science Foundation’s Technology Innovation and Partnerships directorate - or TIP - and former chief of staff for Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly.
