Several young authors were celebrated in May when WTCI announced the winners of the PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest.

The contest was open to children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.  Emilia Liedke won first place for the 2nd grade category.  Her story is part poetry, part prose and inspired by vegetables from her backyard.  Emilia also illustrated her book with smiling vegetables interacting in the garden.  Her book was submitted to the national contest.
