A Sculpture That Honors An Inspiring Legacy At The AIM Center

The AIM Center

Next weekend, a piece of public art will be unveiled at The AIM Center here in Chattanooga: a sculpture, titled “Positive Space.”

The center offers employment, education, housing, socialization and wellness opportunities for adults living with serious mental illness.

While the center is non-medical and non-clinical, it works with mental health professionals.

The sculpture - which honors Bonnie Currey-Stamps, the center’s co-founder who died last year - will be unveiled on Saturday, October 1st at 11 AM.

Shawanna Kendrick is interim director of community relations and advancement at The AIM Center, located at 472 West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Aaron Baker has been a member of the center for almost seven years.
