Meadows's Poems 'Speak' of Howard Finster & Other Southern Folk Artists

A Chattanooga author has a new book of poetry inspired by folk art. Speak, My Tongue by Carrie Meadows celebrates self-taught artists of the American South. In some ways, the poems are almost like an encyclopedia of folk artists, because the book includes a notes section telling readers about the visual art, music and literature that inspired each verse.

Meadows joins us to read a few of her poems and discuss her debut book.

She has a reading coming up December16 at 4pm at Star Line Books.
