The Urban League's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program prepares Federal and State Tax Returns for families with low and moderate incomes, and there is no cost for the assistance.
"The VITA program saves the taxpayer on an average $250 in tax preparation fees," says Val Palmer, Area Coordinator of the VITA Program. It returns $1.2 million in federal tax dollars to the local community, according to Palmer.
