March is Mentor Month and Battle Academy is starting a new program to match mentors with their students.
They are seeking volunteers from the community to participate as mentors for students in 2nd through 5th grade. My guests are Battle Academy Principal Saunya Gus, Instructional Facilitator and Technology Coordinator Katie Hetrick, and Andrew Kean, a parent and volunteer at Battle Academy. The mentoring program will pair local volunteers with students to provide a half hour during the week. The goal is to provide time to bond, get to know one another, and inspire the child in their academic pursuits.
