DJ Mystery Box

Jeremy Dahl is DJ Mystery Box. This is his second mix played live in the studio in the Chattanooga Public library. When he mixes in clubs or for parties, Jeremy leans toward house, but for this mix, he played more melodic tunes—on his Facebook page, he posted: “I broke speed from tech house, to play a little melodic house/ techno set, recently, for NPR and some of my best friends.”

On his Facebook page, Jeremy, who grew up in Chicago, described his world as “Long nights and flashing lights. Home offices and red-eye flights. It's a mad mad mad world but some days it all seems to make sense. I avoid elevators for stairs, carry all my groceries in one trip, and help random strangers. I don't smoke, I rarely drink, but I will guzzle some coffee. My proudest achievement was receiving an award for class clown in Kindergarten. I'm not really interesting, intelligent, or kind... And I most definitely hate sarcasm.” His spirit is exemplified in his favorite quote from Aldous Huxley who wrote: “The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing your enthusiasm.”
