A retired neurosurgeon and author who entered politics, his impressive career spans four decades - from revolutionary surgeries in the operating room to a run for President to Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Dr. Carson is also a dedicated advocate for education.
In 1994, he founded the Carson Scholars Fund with his wife Candy - and that is what brought him here to Chattanooga.
