This week, Concert for a Cause highlights mental health with an evening of music and storytelling in downtown Chattanooga.

On Friday starting at 6:30 PM, four local singer-songwriters will perform at ArtsBuild, sharing how their lives and their music have been impacted by suicide - as September marks National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

Admission is free, donations encouraged - and the money raised will support the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee and Be The Change Youth Initiative’s Youth Art Initiative.

Sydney Guerrette is founder and president of Be The Change, which is presenting the concert.

Her mom Deirdre Catlett is its operations director.

Melissa Astin is manager of grants and community engagement at ArtsBuild.

If you or someone you know may be considering suicide or is in crisis, please call - or please text - 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
