Here in Tennessee, demand for jobs in IT is high.

For each student graduating in that field, about four jobs are available.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee - the largest health benefit plan provider in the state - cofounded a higher ed partnership known as the BlueSky Tennessee Institute: an accelerated bachelor’s program in computing to train more technology talent for the workforce.

Next month, the program’s inaugural class of students will be welcomed at Blue Cross headquarters here in Chattanooga.

Bradley Leon is executive director of BlueSky Tennessee Institute - and Melissa Graham is its student success manager.
