Chattanooga is where this nation’s highest military award for valor was first presented - during the Civil War.

Today, the Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center honors that legacy.

On Friday, September 30th, the center hosts its annual Celebration of Valor luncheon - starting at 11:30 AM at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Hannah Sher is the center’s director of education.
