Odyssey 2012: Shuttle Pilot Eileen Collins, NPR Host Michele Norris Coming

The Young Women's Leadership Academy Foundation will host Odyssey 2012: Engineering a Dream on noon Wednesday, April 18th at the Chattanooga Convention Center.  Special guests include the first women space shuttle pilot and commander Colonel Eileen Collins and NPR's Michele Norris.  Odyssey 2012 is an award luncheon for the Supernova Award honoring local women professionals in the fields of science, engineering, technology and mathematics.  Outstanding students from the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy will also be honored with the Rising Star award for accomplishment in STEM.


The finalist for the second annual Supernova Awards are:

Sheila Boyington, President of Thinking Media and Vice-President, Workforce Development Division at Act, Inc.

Dr. Anna George, Chief Research Scientist at the Tennessee Aquarium

Dr. Phyllis Miller, Gynecologist at the Women's Institute for Specialized Health

Dr. Gretchen Potts, UC Foundation Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

Denise Rice, Director of Cleveland Operations and Development, Cormetech, Inc. Environmental
