The Chattanooga Zoo is hosting a Perfectly Purple Celebration on Wednesday August 20, 2014 in celebration of the 80th birthday of the Purple Lady.
If you have lived in the Chattanooga area for any amount of time you have probably heard of the Purple Lady. Sonia Young has spent the better part of her life surrounded in purple. Everything about her home, her car, all her clothes; everything is purple. She has also been an advocate for many charities around town. Young wants a giraffe for her birthday so the best gift you can give the Purple Lady is a donation to the Giraffe Exhibit Capital Campaign. Plans for the future giraffe exhibit will be unveiled at the event. Admission to the Chattanooga Zoo for the Perfectly Purple Celebration is free from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (423) 697-1319. Guests are encouraged to wear purple.
