Family Holiday Experiences are Happening Both Inside and on Top of Lookout Mountain

Rock City's Enchanted Garden of Lights is celebrating 20 years of lighting up the top of Lookout Mountain and Ruby Falls is opening a portion of the caverns rarely seen with their new Christmas Underground.

The Enchanted Garden of Lights at Rock City will celebrate the holidays with thousands of LED lights and some new scenes that are adding computer controlled light displays.  There will also be a few new characters to share the holiday excitement for visitors to the gardens.    Proceeds from the Enchanted Garden of Lights will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.

Ruby Falls is taking their holiday celebration inside the mountain for the new Christmas Underground.  This experience will offer a chance to walk through portions of the caverns that are not usually open to the public.  Miners looking for the Joystone will help spread the spirit of Christmas as costumed characters help lead children through an underground tunnel to  Santa's workshop.   Visitors to Ruby Falls can also enjoy the carriage rides and cocoa typically found above the caverns.

The Enchanted Garden of Lights is open every evening from 6:00 to 9:00 through January 3rd with the exception of Christmas Eve.  Ruby Falls Underground Christmas is open until December 23rd from 3:00 to 8:00 on weekdays and noon to 8:00 on weekends.

Rabbit has been on the air at WUTC since 1993.
