  • The weekend after next, a monument to Thaddeus Stevens - the Civil War era leader from Pennsylvania who fought against slavery and known as “The Father of the 14th Amendment” - will be unveiled and dedicated in Gettysburg. It is the work of Alex Paul Loza - a visual artist, sculptor and educator, born in Peru and based here in Chattanooga.
  • Next week, students at Ringgold High School will stage an encore performance of the musical “Catch Me If You Can” to raise funds for Save the Children’s Ukraine Relief Effort. It takes place on Monday at 7 PM in the Robin L. Christian Performing Arts Theater.
