James “Murr” Murray is one of four comedians behind the hidden camera reality show “Impractical Jokers.” The show, now in its 10th season, follows four lifelong friends as they compete to publicly embarrass each other in front of unsuspecting strangers. This December, James “Murr” Murray brings elements of Impractical Jokers to Chattanooga with his live standup comedy tour Murr Live! happening at The Walker Theatre on Saturday, December 9, 2023. While there won’t be losers and punishments, Murr Live! will feature at least one challenge where a random audience member, armed with a hidden camera and earpiece, is sent onto the streets of Chattanooga to interact with strangers at Murr’s command, all while the audience watches in suspense! In late November, WUTC’s own Haley Solomon had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Murr about the origin of impractical jokers and the experience of Murr Live.
