This Saturday marks six months since the Ed Johnson Memorial was dedicated near the Walnut Street Bridge in downtown Chattanooga. On March 19th, 1906, Johnson - a young Black man - was lynched on that bridge. This Saturday, March 19th, The Ed Johnson Project - which led the community effort to build the memorial - will reflect with a pair of events.
When Louisa May Alcott wrote “Little Women” after the Civil War, she could not have imagined that her coming-of-age novel about the March sisters would one day become a Broadway musical - as it did in 2005. On Friday, the musical adaptation of “Little Women” comes to Chattanooga Theatre Centre.
