(aired Thu 10/28/21) The city of Pensacola is on the Gulf Coast of Florida, on the border with Alabama.
At 309 6th Avenue, you will find a house - Punkhouse 309 - known for decades as a crossroads for do-it-yourself currents from punk rock and activism to veganism and queer culture.
Scott Satterwhite has lived there.
He is co-author and co-editor of the book “A Punkhouse in the South: The Oral History of 309,” published by the University Press of Florida.
Scott teaches writing and literature at the University of West Florida - and I spoke with him before a recent talk for the Chattanooga Public Library.
