Michael Almond’s Novel “The Tannery” Conjures A Troubled Past

Michael Almond grew up in the small town of Pilot Mountain in the Piedmont foothills of North Carolina.

His debut novel - “The Tannery” - is historical fiction, set in turbulent Wilkes County, North Carolina in 1900.
