The Chambliss Conversations: From Early Childhood Education to Quality Affordable Care

Each day, Chambliss Center for Children cares for more than 750 children here in the Chattanooga area through the same model of around-the-clock care.

It provides early childhood education and child care to children ages six weeks through 12 years old - and residential care for children removed from their homes and now in the custody of the State of Tennessee.

Here on “Scenic Roots,” we are telling the story of Chambliss through a series of conversations as the nonprofit agency celebrates 150 years in our community.

In this conversation, we focus on early childhood education - and the importance of access to quality affordable care.

Levasia Green is associate director of the extended early childhood program at Chambliss.

Jennifer Andrews is director of early childhood strategies at Chattanooga 2.0.

The story of Chambliss continues next month here on “Scenic Roots.”
