Riverbend 2023

WUTC's own Nessa Parrish journeyed into Riverbend's 40th-anniversary celebration to set the scene with her camera for those that could not attend the festival.

Over the weekend, Ross's Landing was bustling with festival-goers excitedly making their way between the three stages to catch a variety of artists, including big names such as Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade and Maren Morris, as well as local bands, such as The Afternooners. While the final day was interrupted by a storm which caused the festival grounds to be evacuated for a short period of time, the hardworking Riverbend team kept their social media followers in the know by posting updates every few minutes and eventually announced that the festival would open up and continue at 8:30 pm.

Due to the evacuation, set times had to be altered in order to allow the last two acts, Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, to put on their shows for the crowd of dedicated fans. Despite the shorter performance times, both acts managed to leave the fans with a memorable show, filled with spectacular music and lights, leading to Riverbend's tradition of providing a firework show as the grand finale.
