Tess Pope of WUTC interviews Summer Salt, an LA-based trop-pop band with the ability to transport you to summertime in a moment’s notice.

In other words, the band perfectly captures the essence of the ocean through their music; each one of their songs sounds like a beach vacation in June.

The project was started by lead singer and guitarist Matthew Terry and drummer Eugene Chung in 2015 and has grown from a bedroom pop duo playing for friends and family to an indie band playing for crowds of devoted fans.

The band is be celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the release of their first full length EP Driving to Hawaii.

Catch them on tour this fall, and keep an eye out for a new album including B-side tracks they recorded for their first album 10 years ago.
