(Aired Tues 12/03/24)

Two years ago, the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga released its first-ever “State of Black Chattanooga” report.

It detailed the conditions for African-Americans in this city and Hamilton County - to provide, quote, “a holistic picture” on disparities in economics, health, education and civic involvement.

Earlier this year came the second edition of the report.

Where do things stand now - and where might they be heading?

The honorary co-chairs for this year’s “State of Black Chattanooga” report are Katherlyn Geter, former Hamilton County Commissioner and a community advocate - and Pastor William Terry Ladd III of First Baptist Church, also on the Urban League’s Board of Directors.

Ray is the host and producer of Scenic Roots, Mondays - Thursdays at 3 PM on WUTC.
