Here At UTC: An Open House For Young Future Engineers

Engineering is a hands-on discipline.

So is the quest for the next generation of engineers.

This weekend, our campus - the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga - hosts an E-Week Open House, for students k-through-12 and their families in this area.

It takes place on Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM at the College of Engineering and Computer Science Building at 735 Vine St.

Irene Hillman is the College’s director of student success.

Dr. Venkateswara Kode is an assistant professor of chemical engineering at UTC.

Katelyn Hamilton is a junior at UTC, majoring in chemical engineering with a concentration in environmental science.

At The Signal: The Houston Museum’s Antiques Show & Sale

Here in Chattanooga, the Houston Museum of Decorative Arts hosts one of the premier antiques shows in the South. With the Museum under renovation and now operating out of a nearby pop-up space, its Annual Antiques Show and Sale for this year comes to the Signal Ballroom at the Choo-Choo.

At a nature preserve, the night can be as full of activity as the day. Think of hikes by moonlight, Red Wolf howls, owl prowls and gazing at the stars. That’s what you’ll find at Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center in Chattanooga - which hosts “Follow the Fire” on Saturday, starting at 5 PM.
