(Aired Thu 4/10/25)

Walk into the Jewish Cultural Center here in Chattanooga - and you’ll see two exhibits with stars.

The Stars of David Project by Jen Lewis features dozens of hand drawn panels with thousands of stars - symbolizing the millions of Jews who died in the Holocaust during World War II.

Also on display: Stars of David from the Holocaust era and Nazi concentration camp artifacts from the Gilbert Tabby Collection at the Children’s Holocaust Museum in Whitwell, 24 miles northwest of Chattanooga.

Both exhibits are on display at the Jewish Cultural Center through Sunday, April 27th - a few days after this year’s Holocaust Remembrance Day on Thursday, April 24th.

I spoke with Jen Lewis, who is also the executive director of the Association for Visual Arts - or AVA - here in Chattanooga; David Tabby, son of Gilbert Tabby - and Ann Treadwell of the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga.

Ray is the host and producer of Scenic Roots, Mondays - Thursdays at 3 PM on WUTC.
