Last fall, voters in Nashville overwhelmingly approved a half cent increase in the sales tax to create dedicated funding for city transit that will improve buses, traffic signals, sidewalks and bike lanes.

On Thursday, Chattanooga Design Studio presents the latest talk in its CIVIQ speaker series - titled, “Transit and Mobility: Lessons Learned From Nashville” - starting at 5:30 PM at the downtown Chattanooga Public Library.

The speaker: Erin Hafkenschiel, now president of ThinkTennessee - a nonpartisan, nonprofit thinktank - who will bring her prior background in transportation and mobility in Nashville to her talk at CIVIQ.

I spoke with Erin - and Eric Myers, executive director of Chattanooga Design Studio.
