The town of Bristol, which stretches across the state border between Tennessee and Virginia, is known as "The Birthplace of Country Music."
In 2001, the town hosted the first Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion - featuring the best of Appalachian music, from country and bluegrass to Americana and rock.
WUTC's Clark Gibson spoke with Richard Oakley, the festival director, about this year's Reunion from Friday, September 11th through Sunday, September 13th in Bristol.
