Ballet Esprit Presents: ALTER-NUT Awakening, Thursday and Friday, November 19 & 20 at 6:30, Chattanooga Theatre Centre.
This particularly unique Alternative Nutcracker Ballet is a retelling of the traditional two-act tale, now through a more relatable lens. The Alter-Nut Awakening explores our fragmented society, obsessed with devices, and the need for more resilient bonds. Leaving behind Victorian themes, these performances confront our current lived experience. Beloved characters, such as Clara, Fritz, and Drosselmeyer, are depicted in the present as a parody of our screen addiction. Gaining new perspective through the Place of Presence in Act II with the help of some reimagined iconic roles, like “Guiding Light” and “Sweetness + Joy”, the Siblings return to kinship, meaningful relationships and collective experiences.

Special Opportunity!! Gala and Cast Party for ALTER-Nut Awakening. Tuesday November 17th 6:30 – 8:30 PM at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre.
