Home Again: A Benefit for TIRRC brings literature, conversation, and live music together at Songbirds in Chattanooga for a benefit supporting the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition. The event begins with Chattanooga author Mariah Friend reading from her debut novel, The Pattern Shop, followed by a discussion on identity, migration, and community led by Hope Henchey. The night finishes with a live set from Ghanaian born master drummer Kofi Mawuko and his eight piece Ogya World Music Band, bringing high energy rhythms from West Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas.
