The 26–27 Season opens with a vibrant celebration of American music, from jazz to Broadway and beyond. Duke Ellington’s Black, Brown & Beige and Symphonic Dances from West Side Story bring bold rhythms and vibrant energy to the stage. Violinist Randall Goosby takes the spotlight in Johannes Brahms’s Violin Concerto, a sweeping and deeply expressive showcase for one of today’s most compelling young artists. This program also features a fresh voice from close to home with a work by local composer Ben Van Winkle. It’s an evening full of color and contrast, from the first note to the last.

What to expect:

A dynamic mix of what makes American music great - from the dance hall to heart break

A standout solo performance by international star violinist Randall Goosby

Music that ranges from high-energy and rhythmic to rich and expressive

This performance is part of the CSO’s 26-27 Season: Moments. This season is the second chapter of Unspoken: Our Story Through Sound, a journey that spans three seasons.
