Built in 1893 just off the Lynchburg courthouse square, the Old Moore County Jail held prisoners and housed the sheriff's family under the same roof for almost a century until it closed in 1990. Directly across the street stands the Old Lynchburg Funeral Home, where generations of the town's dead were prepared for burial. Paranormal investigators report voices, movement in empty rooms and apparitions in both buildings.
