Start It Up Episode 5: The Future of Tech and Finding a Cause

Harvard's David Weinberger Explores the Future of Tech

David Weinberger may not have an actual crystal ball, but people around the world seek his advice to help them understand the future of technology.  As a Fellow at Harvard Law School's Berkman Center for the Internet and Society and best-selling author, David has established himself as a thought-leader regarding the impact of technology on our lives.  David was in Chattanooga for Startup Week and talked about his first (but not last) visit to our city.

Where There's a Cause, There's a Way

A few years ago, a group of local tech leaders put their heads together to create an Internet platform to inspire, connect, and fund social activists.  Today Causeway is much more than a website.  It has grown into an organization that has helped fuel solutions to some of Chattanooga's most pressing civic challenges.  James Chapman is Entrepreneur In Residence at Causeway and explains what's on the horizon for this growing organization.

Susanne Burnham was the Executive Producer of Start it Up from October of 2014 to August of 2015. She is a graduate of The Company Lab’s Accelerator. She is the Founder and CEO of Click Click Boom, a graduate of the University of Georgia and a U.S. Army Veteran (Desert Storm). She launched her career in the mobile tech industry in 2009, and in 2012 relocated to Chattanooga because of EPB’s fiber optic network and to participate in the City’s growth as a tech and startup hub.
