Start It Up Episode 17: Blamtastic Grows By Keeping Customers First

When Renee Sandler came home one day and challenged her daughters, Lily and Melanie, to create a product and company, she had no idea that it would grow to more than $10 million in annual revenue.  However, that is precisely what has happened. Now Renee leads Blamtastic full-time and Lily is Co-CEO at the ripe old age of 16. Melanie works mostly behind the scenes and is focused on product development and creative.

Blamtastic is rolling out a new product line exclusively through Walmart and has distribution from coast to coast.  What began as an idea and lesson in self-empowerment is now a kick-ass cosmetics company that successfully competes with major players like Proctor & Gamble, Revlon, etc.  Renee and Lily credit their success to building a close connection with consumers and not becoming too corporate.
