Pundits are already talking about the 2016 Presidential election, and theTennessee primaries are less than a year off.

Looking to get more informed as the election season ramps up?

Recently, the Chattanooga unit of the League of Women has become active again.  They are a nonpartisan organization providing "unbiased nonpartisan information about elections, the voting process, and issues," according to the League of Women Voters of Tennessee Web site.  They don't support specific candidates, but do advocate for different policies and work to build participation in the democratic process.

Joan Hamner, President of the local LOWV unit, joins us in this interview to explain more about what they do, and to tell us about their long history in Tennessee.  The organization is open to everyone, men and women alike.

Their next meeting will take place May 18th and is open to the public.  Hamilton County elections administrator Kerry Steelman will speak at the meeting.  More informationis here, or call 423-622-2862.
