The Hamilton County Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting several mini camps this summer with a focus on reading and the great outdoors.
Read20 is participating in the summer camps with reading activities planned for "Book It" June 16 - 18 at the Tennessee Riverpark Fry Fishing Center from 10 am to 1 pm. This camp will focus on 2nd through 4th grade readers and is free. Pre-register by calling 842-6748 by June 12th.
Mountain bike camps at the Enterprise South Nature Park will be held June 8 - 12 and July 27-31.
A family campout is scheduled for the weekend of July 8 - 10. This event will encourage families that have never camped to come and experience an evening by the lake to learn about camping and outdoor recreation. There will be reading and craft activities scheduled for children age 5 - 7 (with parents) from 9 am to noon and a second session for ages 8 - 10 from 1 to 4 pm.
