Grab a Hat and Read With the Cat

United Way of Greater Chattanooga

Read Across Chattanooga celebrates the birthday of Dr. Seuss at Hamilton Place Mall March 4th through the 8th with readings of his books each evening and a big birthday bash on Saturday.

The United Way of Greater Chattanooga is teaming up with community partners to provide family friendly activities each day and plenty of opportunities to hang out with the Cat in the Hat.

Celebrity readers will be sharing the stories of Dr. Seuss Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings from 6 to 7 pm.  Saturday the festivities begin at at 11 am with a free Dr. Seuss book given to the first 500 children.  There will be activities that include games, arts & crafts, and a sing-a-long for the birthday party.  Families will have the opportunity to sign up for the Imagination Library with free books sent to the home each month for children under the age of 5.   The festivities continue until 2 pm with cookies, games, and everyone can make a hat to wear at the party.

All activities during Read Across Chattanooga at the Center Stage of Hamilton Place Mall are free and open to the public.

This list of activities is taken from the United Way of Greater Chattanooga's website http://liveunitedchattanooga.com/www/blog/viewpost/160.
