Catalpa, A Magazine By UTC English Graduate Students

Catalpa, Spring 2017 issue

You may have heard of the magnolia as a symbol of the South. But another tree - the catalpa - also has that reputation. In 2016, the catalpa caught the attention of a group of graduate English students at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga trying to come up with a name for their new campus publication. Catalpa contains poems grappling with Southern identity, as well as more eccentric pieces about UFO sightings and St. Elmo’s annual corgi parade.
