Learning Mariachi At Dalton Middle School

Dalton Middle School

Back in the spring, Dalton Middle School in Georgia started a mariachi program - to teach students how to play that genre of Mexican music.

Since then, the students in their mariachi band have performed around Dalton - including at the Creative Arts Guild’s fall festival.

 

Daisy Cardona is the band director at Dalton Middle School who created the mariachi program.

 

She joins us - along with Janna Pye, also a band director at the school - and three mariachi students:  Aaron Selfors and Anais Yajure Schultz, both in eighth grade - and Hope Hambrock, who is in seventh grade...
