Rita Lorraine Hubbard is a Chattanooga native whose educational books and books for children tell the history of Black Southerners.
Among her works: “African-Americans of Chattanooga: A History of Unsung Heroes,” “The Oldest Student: How Mary Walker Learned to Read,” and “Hammering for Freedom.”
On Thursday at 6 PM, Rita will appear on Zoom for the Virtual South Bound Lecture Series from Southern Lit Alliance.
I spoke with her - and Lynda LeVan, the Alliance’s executive director.
