Last month, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce unveiled a CEO Pledge for Racial Equity.
At last count on the Chamber’s website, 70 local business leaders have signed the pledge, an invitation to - quote - “intentionally enhance efforts to achieve equity of opportunity within organizations and the broader Chattanooga community.”
Christy Gillenwater is the Chamber’s president and CEO.
Val Armstrong is chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors - and at American Water, she is Chief Inclusion Officer and Vice President for External Affairs.
